Nigerian Afrobeats star Davido has opened up about his approach to fame, saying he chooses to remain accessible rather than creating distance between himself and fans because of his celebrity status.
Speaking about his personality, the award-winning singer explained that he does not believe in excessively "packaging" himself or maintaining an air of mystery, describing himself as different from many other artists.
According to Davido, while many entertainers are expected to appear less accessible, he is comfortable being himself and interacting freely with people.
Addressing the Nigerian expression "see finish," which suggests that over-familiarity can reduce respect, the singer said he is unconcerned, expressing confidence that his success will continue regardless.
Davido also credited his upbringing for shaping his personality, revealing that he grew up in a large household as the youngest of five children, surrounded by siblings and cousins.
