BREAKING NEWS: A Federal High Court in Abuja has ruled that former President Goodluck Jonathan is eligible to participate in the 2027 presidential election. Justice Peter Lifu dismissed the suit challenging Jonathan’s eligibility, stating that the plaintiff lacked legal standing and describing the case as “an abuse of court process” and frivolous. The court also upheld a ₦20 million fine against lawyer Johnmary Jideobi and awarded an additional ₦1 million in favour of the Attorney-General of the Federation. The judge noted that previous rulings by courts in Yenagoa and the Court of Appeal had already affirmed Jonathan’s eligibility.
